you have arrived in the house of doors Something changed. Maybe you tripped, maybe it seemed like the world momentarily slid out of your grasp. You're the only one that seemed to notice. You took another step and something slipped, like the world took a step sideways, and without moving at all you have arrived. The grand parlor looms in front of you, windows grimy and dimmed with dust. A sense of age hangs around you. A heavy door stands behind you, obviously not the way you came in. It's solid and unmovable when tested, locked tight. Leaving proves impossible. Just surviving will take up much of your attention. The people around you have no more clue than you, but you will need to depend on them now. The day stands ahead of you--time to prepare, perhaps, but night is a constant threat. Welcome. | ||||

General Layout/Getting Between the Houses
The Houses are numbered by the order in which they've opened up and become accessible to the characters; for a time, the only open area was the First House, until the sealed doors on the second floor opened.
Those doors in the First House open onto the Floating Hallway, a raised glass corridor that gives a very limited view of greenery below in the fog-shrouded greenhouse. The Floating Hallway continues straight for about a mile from there to the second floor hallway of the Second House. Halfway down the Hallway is a door that leads to another stretch of raised glass hallway, this one so fog-shrouded that nothing can be seen outside of it; making the entire Floating Hallway a T-shape. This Hanging Hall leads to the Fourth House, via a set of double doors that open into the Slaughterhouse on the second floor.
The walls of the chapel courtyard in the Second House have a set of doors that open onto the Wind Tunnel Hallway; this corridor connects the Second House to the entryway of the Third House.
It is possible to enter the Greenhouse from more than one of the Houses; the Stable in the Third House opens into it, with the Orchard and Hot Springs connected via paths through it. A doorway in the Oak Hallway, near the ballroom in the First House, opens into another part of it, and the Gardener's Wing also has a door that opens into the Greenhouse. Unfortunately, while the Greenhouse is one large open area, the fog and tendency to get lost makes it a risky option for attempting to go between the Houses, with low odds of success.
